Greenland JohnGREENLAND, John R.   -  It is with heartbreak that we announce the loss of our dear John at Chester Village (Toronto) on January 16, 2022 in his 92nd year.

A man of integrity with a great sense of humour, John was well-liked by all who knew him.

An old school gentleman with a warm heart and wonderful smile.

Always looking on the bright side of life.

He loved his family and his friends. John showed remarkable fortitude throughout his health battles.

John was born and lived in Toronto his entire life. He was a choir boy at Grace Church on-the-Hill.

An Architectural Draftsman by profession, John had a long working career at Pilkington Glass, Stanley Works, Zimmcor and Dor-Control Craftsman.

John enjoyed home life, cottage country (Kawagama Lake and Lake Kashagawigamog), visits with family in England, cruise ship travel, music, great friends and good food! He was proud of his curling eight-ender.

He loved eating out (especially Japanese) but also enjoyed just sipping a cuppa' at home. John was artistic, knew quality and had a great eye for detail.

Forever and deeply loved husband of Christine Greenland (for nearly 25 years) and devoted Dad to special son, Mark Greenland.

Caring Uncle Jack to Garry Greenland and Jane (Roger) Thomas.

A loyal friend to his buddies.

Predeceased by his wife, Donna Morgan Greenland, his brother Ralph Archer Greenland and his parents Ralph Edgar Greenland and Ethel May Archer Greenland.

Our sincere thanks to the team at Chester Village for their unwavering care of John.

Donations to Chester Village (Broadview Foundation) would be appreciated.

And when life's sweet fable ends,
Soul and body part like friends;
No quarrels, murmurs, no delay;
A kiss, a sigh, and so away.
