GILLEN, Kevin Patrick   -   It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Kevin Patrick Gillen, of Mississauga, who passed away suddenly, on January 19, 2022.

He was 61.

Kevin is survived by his much-loved sons Connor and Brian, his sister Bernadette, and his former wife, Lisa Arseneault. Also mourning Kevin's loss are his extended family in Ireland and England, with whom he had close ties.

Kevin was predeceased by his mother Mary McGlynn and by his father Vincent Gillen, who both immigrated to Canada from Ireland in 1956.

Born and raised in Toronto, Kevin recently retired after a career in the energy industry.

In his retirement, Kevin graciously volunteered during the pandemic by delivering food to the needy for the local food bank.

Everybody who ever met Kevin loved him and enjoyed his quick wit and his sense of humour. But more than that, he thrived on "being there" for everybody around him.

He was an avid motorcyclist, hiker, and music fanatic, but most important of all to him were his sons.

Above all, Kevin was happy that his sons had grown into respectful, hard-working young men.

A private family service will be held in Kevin's honour.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Mississauga Foodbank.
