Johnston JuneJOHNSTON, June Constance (nee SHERWIN)   -  June 17, 1932 – April 17, 2022

With deep sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of our loving mother.

She was the cherished daughter of the late Frank and Louise Sherwin and the adored wife of the late Ken Johnston.

God has called Mom home, after a long and happy life, where she is now reunited with the love of her life… our dad.

June will be greatly missed by: her 3 children, Marilyn (Sam), Mark (Ellen) and Stephen (Sally); and her 4 grandchildren. Mom was meant to be a "Mom" and we loved her for everything that she and dad did for us.

She dearly loved her family, her church and her many friends both in Toronto and in Barrie, Ontario, where they moved to for their retirement.

Mom had a strong faith in God and enjoyed being active in the 3 Presbyterian Churches she belonged to throughout her life: Riverdale Presbyterian, St. Andrew's Presbyterian in downtown Toronto and finally Essa Road Presbyterian in Barrie.

For the last few years, before COVID, she attended her daughter's church with her at St. Andrew's Presbyterian in Ajax, Ontario.

For the last 6 years, she has resided at Winbourne Park Long Term Care in Ajax and has been lovingly cared for by the wonderful staff on the Lakeridge and Westney Units.

They always spoke of Mom's bright beautiful smile and her laugh.

They told me how much they truly did love her. We can never thank them enough for all their kindness and support given to our beloved mother.

At the family's request, there will be no funeral service.

A private family gathering will be held at a later date.

If desired, donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
