YAU, Dr. Tony Pak Choong - August 27, 1939 - April 23, 2022
It is with sadness, that we announce the sudden passing of Dr. Tony Pak Choong Yau on April 23, 2022, at the age of 82.
A graduate of the University of Manchester Medical School (U.K.) of the class of 1964, he immigrated to Canada and established his practice shortly thereafter in the St. Clair Avenue West and Dufferin neighbourhood.
There he dedicated the next fifty years of his life to proudly serving the community as "Dottore Yau" while perfecting his Italian.
Dr. Yau will be greatly missed by his wife Irene; his children Daphne, Andrew and Fiona; his siblings Poh Yoke (the late Joe Amin), Poh Keng, Poh Lin (Tom Grimes), Pak Seng (Evelyn Foo) and Pak Cheng (Gladys Yau); as well as all his other brothers, sisters and extended family in Malaysia and Canada.
An open visitation and service will be held in his honour from 1-3 p.m. on April 28, 2022 at York Funeral Centre, 160 Beecroft Road, North York, Ontario.
