SCHOUTEN, Renée Virginia   -  We are very saddened to announce that after a short illness, Renée Virginia Schouten died on April 18, 2022 at her home at Sheridan Villa.

She slipped away quietly with her family at her side.

Renée was predeceased by her husband, Dick; her daughter, Lisa; and her son, Jeff. She is survived by her daughter, Erica (Shaun); and son, Tim (Pat).

Renée was a longtime active member of the congregation of the Church of the Redeemer in Toronto, where she volunteered and edited the church newsletter.

She was also a longtime fan, supporter, and volunteer for her much-loved Jazz FM Radio.

Renée was an award-winning stage manager, and she is well remembered by many in the Toronto theatre community.

Her self- published memoir, SM Notes: Words from the Wings, is a delightful recounting of many of the highlights of her career. Renée will be interred with her beloved husband, Dick, at the Toronto Necropolis later this summer.
