SHEPHERD, George Andrew   - Peacefully, on Thursday, May 19, 2022, at St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto, at the age of 84.

Beloved husband to Betty, who understood and loved both the strong and gentle sides of him.

Very proud father of Craig (Nadia) and Best Grandfather Ever! to Raegan and Hazel.

Cherished brother of Bill (Frances) and uncle to Robert (Karen), Christopher, John, Carolyn (Wally) and Colleen (Eric). Predeceased by his brother- and sister-in-law, Vern and Mary Chapman.

For the rest of the family and his many good friends, he was (in no particular order) a former Olympian, teacher, coach and mentor, teller of questionable jokes, and occasionally chief mischief maker.

George was also the first person there to celebrate others' successes and provide them with support in difficult times.

Friends may call at the Glendale Funeral Home, Etobicoke , on May 23rd. Visitation at 11 a.m. and Memorial Service at 12 p.m. A small reception will follow at the Canadiana Restaurant (5230 Dundas St. W., Etobicoke).

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in George's memory to the SickKids Foundation at: www.sickkidsfoundation.com, or to the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, St. Michael's Hospital Foundation at: www.stmichaelsfoundation.com.
