Chu HenryCHU, Henry Q.   - 1928 - 2022   -  Henry Q. Chu passed away peacefully at Sunnybrook Hospital on May 27, 2022, with family at his bedside.

Henry was born in Vancouver, British Columbia.

During WWII, he was a member of the Royal Canadian Air Cadets.

Henry and his brothers Burk and Johnny managed Young Bros., a high-end green grocery in North Toronto for several decades.

One summer whilst attending a YMCA camp at Lake Couchiching, Ontario, Henry met the love of his life and his future loving wife Mary.

Benevolently, Henry was a founding supporter of the Mon Sheong Foundation (a charity dedicated to helping senior citizens in Ontario) and where he served as an Honourary Governor. Henry, a loving husband and devoted father, is greatly missed by his beloved wife Mary, and children Stephen (Jacqueline deceased), Donald (Deanna), Jana (Edward), and Michael, as well as the grandchildren Christopher, Alexander, Andrew, Catherine, David, Madeleine, and Elizabeth.

Henry was a man of integrity, intelligence with a wry sense of humour who delighted and doted over his grandchildren. Henry was a long-term member of Fairlawn Avenue United Church.

Friends are welcome to attend a Celebration of Life service at Fairlawn Avenue United Church, 28 Fairlawn Avenue - Toronto on Friday, June 3, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. Ontario Covid-19 health measures will be in effect at the Church.

The Family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses at the Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre for their compassionate care and dedication.

If desired, and in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre Foundation.
