TRIPIS, Louis - It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Louis Tripis on Sunday, May 29, 2022, aged 90 years.
Dearly beloved husband of Fay Tripis; and loving father of Stavros and Catherine (Nick).
Louis was born in Athens, Greece in 1931 to Stavros and Katarina Tripis.
He will be missed by his many family and friends, along with his sisters, Mary and Barbara; nephews, nieces; and relatives in Greece, the United States, and Canada.
A believer in helping people whenever possible, Louis constantly encouraged those around him to realize their true potential and did everything he could to set them down a better path.
He held no judgement and expected nothing in return.
We admired how much he gave of himself to help others. He planted so many seeds of wisdom in all of us.
As he now looks upon us from above, it is our responsibility to show him how they grow.
Academics cannot agree on an accurate translation of the Greek word "Philoxenia", they need not look any further than Louis Tripis, as he was the personification of its meaning. Love and miss him always.
Viewing will be held at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church on Friday, June 3, 2022 at 10:00 a.m.; followed by the Funeral service in celebration of his life at 11:00 a.m.
