Baines RedinaBAINES, Redina   -  May 3, 1922 - May 20, 2022

Passed peacefully in her apartment. Surrounded by her photo albums, books, music and memorabilia of a life well-lived.

A life filled with extraordinary moments.

Family and friends were able to have a celebration of her life on her 100th birthday, just weeks before her passing.

Redina was predeceased by her husband Lloyd and is fondly remembered by her son David (Donna); grandchildren: Aprile (James), Andrew (Andrea) and Sarah (Nick); and great-grandchildren: Cassidy, Kaitlyn, Kiera, Lucas and Sophia.

Redina was a lifelong learner and would visit the Manchester Public Library to study art and history (Nelson was a hero).

When the war came Redina joined the Woman's Auxiliary, RAF, as a lorry driver. She was based in Lincoln at Waddington Air Base, attached to an Australian air crew.

As a driver, Redina would ferry air crew to and from the Lancaster's. Many brave young souls did not return. It was here that mom met and later married Canadian Flight Officer, Lloyd W. E. Baines.

Although Dad was shot down over Germany and was a POW, he escaped and fought with an American unit until repatriated. Married in England, Redina was later able to join dad in Canada. She became a homemaker and eventually a mother (yeah).

It was here she first began painting. Many pieces hang in friends' homes. Later, Redina found her dream job working at the Fitness Institute. Making lifelong friends with members and staff.

The family would like to thank all the wonderful and nurturing caregivers who also brought joy to Redina in her later years, especially her friends Alysha, Anar and Leonie.

To Better Living and the amazing staff: Juddef, who never let us down, Krystal, Susan, Joycenel and her nurse Janice.

In accordance with mom's explicit written instructions, there will be no visitation or funeral service.

However, family and friends will, over time, celebrate her wonderful life.
