Budzinski JuliaBUDZINSKI, Julia Marie - Julia Marie, 17, born in Richmond, Virginia, passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2022, after a boating accident.

She was a rising senior at the Center for Education and Development at Glen Allen High School, where she was a three-sport athlete in volleyball, soccer and basketball. At her school, she recently was elected Vice President of the National Honor Society and named a leader for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Most importantly, Julia was a loving daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin, teammate and friend.

Julia was a perfectionist, a fierce competitor, a social butterfly, a lover of sunsets (especially at the beach) and had a quick and sarcastic wit to match her curious mind. In the classroom, she offered a bright intellect and commitment to grow. On the field and court, Julia poured her soul into games, inspired by her passion to help her teammates and desire to win. She pushed herself to continually improve and be the very best she could be in everything she did.

Julia cherished her faith, family and friendships and strove to give herself equally to those she loved.

Julia is survived by a large family who loves her and misses her dearly, including her parents, Mark and Monica; her siblings, Josh and Lily; her paternal grandparents, Roman and Eleanore Budzinski; her maternal grandmother, Rosemary Sovyak; her maternal grandfather, Raymond Berquist; her stepgrandmother, Linda Toy; her paternal great-grandmother, Frances Budzinski; her aunts and uncles, Krista Berquist and Marc Robinson, Jared and Danielle Berquist and Carrie Ehart; her first cousins, Jordan Ehart and Nate and Zoe Robinson; many other cousins and countless extended family and friends.

Arrangements entrusted with Bliley's Funeral Home, Central chapel, Richmond, VA. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 10th from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at St. Michael's Catholic Church located at 4491 Springfield Road in Glen Allen. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, July 11th, at 2 p.m. at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Julia Budzinski Memorial Scholarship Fund by visiting henricogives.org/Julia.
