Alonzi RomeoALONZI, Romeo Claudio - Romeo Alonzi, 52 years old, left this world on the morning of July 4, 2022 at Vaughan Cortelluci Hospital.

Romeo was born September 19, 1969 in Toronto, ON, to loving parents Franco and Loreta Alonzi. His mom says  Romeo was the best baby and child who gave her no problems.

Romeo is survived by his brother Pino (Shelly), and sisters Paula (Ralph), Tiziana, and all his nieces and nephews who loved him unconditionally. Romeo was greeted in heaven by his brother, Larry.

Romeo was known for his huge sense of humour and for his famous “last words”. He was an avid reader of anything and everything that would fill his mind with knowledge of history, politics, and entertainment. He was always ready for a good debate, or two, or three.

Romeo had a unique talent of knowing, verbatim, movie quotes from just about the 100 plus greatest movies of the 21st century.

Romeo loved animals and throughout his life he had dogs, cats and most recently had been taking care of Jake, the boxer, who had his heart.

He enjoyed cooking and put his love and soul into making you a meal. The washing of the dishes afterwards was an entirely different story!

Romeo found comfort in music, and as a teenager, he formed bands with friends from high school and you would find him at concerts anywhere downtown Toronto. Romeo's escape was music, he loved listening to it from day to night and enjoyed all genres, from punk rock to reggae.

Romeo was very a humble person who was not impressed by money, social status or job title. He was happy with a black T-shirt and jeans. He was often observed giving his last dollars to someone he just met in a plaza who was in need more than him.

Romeo taught us that all the really good things in life are beyond the “Do Not Enter” signs.

If Romeo was here, he would say "Flaws - I had them, laws - I broke them, dues - I paid them, scars - I bore them, lessons - I learned them, problems - I had them. But before you judge me, or anyone, you better be perfect."

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Toronto Humane Society, for Romeo's love of animals.

Arrangements are entrusted with Scott Funeral Home - Woodbridge Chapel.
