HEATHFIELD, Douglas George - August 25, 1936 - July 04, 2022
Douglas passed peacefully, surrounded by his family, on July 4, after a brief struggle with cancer.
He will be sadly missed by Sandra, his wife of 62 years; his four daughters, Linda, Leslie, Karen (Bill) and Tracey (Frank); his eight grandchildren; and his ten great-grandchildren.
Doug was born, raised and practiced dentistry for his entire career in Weston Ontario.
Doug's generosity, energy, creativity and sense of humour made him a good friend and a popular volunteer at Front Lines, Meals-on-Wheels, The Cancer Society and many other local charitable organizations.
He was an active lifetime member of Weston Presbyterian Church. As an avid sportsman, Doug curled, skied and played tennis.
However, his first love was baseball. Doug was also a lover of music, particularly jazz. He was a member of the Westones for a number of years, sang in the church choir and looked forward to volunteering at the Toronto Jazz Festival every year, as well as catching every live jazz concert he could.
Service will be held on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, 11:00 a.m. at Ward's Funeral Home, 2035 Weston Road, Toronto, ON.
In lieu of flowers, friends are encouraged to make donations to their favourite charities.
