REA, Roy Ward - Roy died June 20, 2022, at age 82, on the palliative care floor of Mississauga Trillium Hospital, where he was lovingly cared for by the incredible staff.
At his side through the months of treatment preceding his death, was his beloved wife of 30 years, Judith (Morgan Rea) and when possible, his children, Steven and Lorrie.
After retiring from the Goodyear Tire Company, Roy devoted time to caring for his mother, including volunteering at the old age home where she resided, as well as volunteering for the Canadian Cancer Society and helping the elderly with their tax preparation if they were shut in and unable to get to assistance centers.
Roy loved to travel and his favourite way of seeing the world was cruising, although organized tours and freewheeling driving trips were also much enjoyed.
He loved his bridge nights and get-togethers with his bridge buddies at the condo where he lived. Poker nights with the "guys" and "Ladies Poker Nights" were also much anticipated.
Roy was preceded in death by his brothers, Ron and Ross.
The trio will be greatly missed by the families at the traditional family holiday gatherings.
A ceremony to scatter his ashes will be held at a later date.
