LANE, Margaret Elizabeth (nee EMMERSON) - August 14, 1924 – July 21, 2022
It is with great sadness, that we announce the passing of Margaret Lane on July 21, 2022, in her 98th year.
Margaret and twin brother were born in Yorkshire, England, on August 14, 1924 to parents, Alfred and Rhoda Emmerson.
She immigrated to Canada with her family in 1926.
Margaret was predeceased by her loving husband of 50 years, Kenneth; twin brother, Herbert; brother, Alfred; and sister, Joyce Lavelle.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be missed by her son, Ronald; and daughter, Sharon Fitchett (Ron).
Her granddaughters, Laurie Fitchett and Sheri-Lynn Hayward (Tim) were the lights of her life, along with her great-grandchildren, Aidan, Arwyn, Nevan and Caitlyn.
Margaret was a long-time member of Riverdale United Church and resident of Endean Avenue in Toronto before moving to Four Oaks Gate in East York.
The family would like to thank the staff of Harbour House in West Oak Village, Oakville, for the excellent care she received over the past 15 months.
In accordance with her wishes, there is no visitation and cremation has taken place.
