Duranovich SoniaDURANOVICH, Sonia Frances (nee LEICHOCK)   -  Sonia, age 83, passed away on September 18, 2022, at her much-loved summer home on the windy shores of Georgian Bay.

Sonia was the loving and devoted wife to Donald (Donny) Duranovich, a beloved mother of Melony (Adam) and Sean (Vallery) and proud Baba to Xzana, Danielle, and Violet-Jean.

Sonia was predeceased by her mother, Frances, father, Walter, and sister, Stella.

Born in North Toronto, which at the time was a rural community. Sonia attended Ledbury Park P.S., Armour Heights, Bathurst Heights Secondary School and Shaw's Business College.

Sonia went on to hold various employment positions with Robert Amell Jewelers and Martel Realty, prior to working alongside her husband Donny.

Sonia was a very avid tennis player participating in many competitive club tournaments, winning numerous trophies, particularity in doubles tennis with her partner Wanda Dunn. Sonia also enjoyed skiing in Collingwood, introducing the sport to her husband and children.

Later in life, Sonia loved to golf with her girlfriends. Sonia was a social butterfly, having a large circle of friends, with whom she loved to keep in touch.

She was a gracious hostess and phenomenal self-taught cook, at both her home and cottage.

Sonia is resting at Cardinal Funeral Home at 366 Bathurst. Visitation will be on Thursday, September 22nd, from 2–4 and 6–8 p.m. Panachyda at 6:45 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at the Chapel at the same location at 10 a.m., Friday, September 23rd. Interment to follow.
