LEAHY, Desmond (Des) Patrick - May 21, 1934 – September 18, 2022
Passed away peacefully, at home in Toronto, Canada, on September 18th, with his family by his side.
Born on May 21, 1934 in Dundalk, Ireland, Des leaves his loving family - his wife of 63 years, Peggy; children: Michael (Linda), Ann (Pearse), Paul (Michelle); grandchildren: Daniel (Catherine), Ciaran, (Débora), Mick, Liam, Alexandra (Jackson); and great-grandchild, Brady.
Survived by his brothers, Aidan (Theresa), Michael (Barbara).
He will be missed by his many cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors. He was a longtime Lever Brothers employee (retiree).
The family would like to thank the loving care provided by Nikki and Emma these last several months as well as the Temmy Latner Palliative Care team.
A Visitation is scheduled on September 25, 2022, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Centre (50 Overlea Blvd.), followed by a Funeral Mass on September 26, 2022, at 11 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church (291 Cosburn Ave.). Interment will follow.
Des's favourite charities were the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Covenant House and the Canadian Cancer Society. Those who would like to donate to one of these or the Charity of Your Choice, would be appreciated.
