DEACON, Betty Adele - Betty passed away peacefully, September 24, 2022, in her 97th year.
Born in Victoria Harbour, she spent most of her life in Toronto, except for 2 wonderful years in 1944-45 in the Canadian Army Show, entertaining our troops across Europe.
She is survived by her daughter, Denise Hicks; grandson, Bryce and family; sister, Peggy; and godsons; cousins, Margaret and Peter West, family and friends.
She is remembered as a gentle, independent, generous spirit.
Many thanks to the kind sensitive staff at the North York Seniors Health Centre, where she enjoyed her final months. Special thanks to her devoted caregiver and close friend, Ayni Gebrekristos, who brought so much love and cheer into her life for so many years.
Memorial service and burial will be in Victoria Harbour in the spring.
