ACKERLEY, Bernice (nee SLOAN)   -  Bernice Ackerley passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at the age of 100.

"Bonnie" was predeceased by her devoted husband of 58 years, William ("Bill"); and is survived by adoring sons, Glenn (Norma) and Paul (Paula); along with grandchildren, Christine, Jonathan, Aidan and Shane, who will forever cherish their times with Grandma Bon.

Raised by her grandparents in rural Scarborough, Bonnie loved nature and animals, doting on every dog or cat she ever encountered. She moved to the city to support the war effort and fell in love with the big band music scene… and with Bill.

Their shared love of music would forever enrich their lives and their sons'.

Bonnie's quiet warmth, subtle humour and sincere interest in all those she met infused both her many lifelong friendships and her countless conversations with strangers.

She never forgot a birthday, or a name, or a dog's name. Wife, mother, homemaker, friend: Bonnie calmly excelled at them all.

The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff of Cedarhurst Dementia Care Home for their loving care and support.

Bonnie's remarkable life will be celebrated privately.

Donations in her memory may be made at www.cedarhursthome.ca.
