Sutka MihalySUTKA, Mihaly   -  It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mihaly Sutka, on December 6, 2022, at the age of 80, at St. Joseph's Health Center.

He succumbed to chronic health conditions, worsening over the past year, but he courageously carried on daily till his being called back to Our Lord on the Feast of St. Nicholas.

He was predeceased by his parents, Mihaly Sutka Sr. and Klara Sutka (nee Kovacs); and his wife, Zsuzsanna Sutka (nee Kulcsar).

He is survived by his sons, (Fr.) John, and Michael.

Born in Csengele, Hungary, his family moved to Erd in the late 1950's.

He graduated from Josef Atilla Gymnasium in Budapest, 1961, and afterwards completed an Agricultural degree.

Having worked on a Government farm in the 1970's, he felt the call to set new roots overseas, arriving in (defecting to) Canada the summer of 1976. He married Zsuzsanna on September 8, 1976 and settled in Toronto.

Their two sons were raised with both faith and good sense of work, for which they are always grateful. He will be missed by his family, friends, colleagues, and neighbours.

Visitation will be on Sunday, December 11, 2022, from 2:00–4:00 and 6:00–9:00 p.m. at G. H. Hogle Funeral Home, Mimico Chapel – 63 Mimico Ave., Etobicoke, ON. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m. (Latin Requiem Mass), at Holy Family Church, 1372 King St. W., Toronto, ON M6K 1H3.

The family is grateful for the care and support provided for him at St. Joseph's Health Center, for the last five years.

If desired, donations may be considered for St. Joseph's Health Center, in his memory.
