DABROWSKI, Irena   -   June 10, 1925 - December 9, 2022

Passed away peacefully on December 9, 2022, at the age of 97.

A lifelong adventurer, Irena traveled from Poland to Canada, making her new life in Toronto.

She later retired for seventeen sunny years in Florida, before moving back to Canada to be closer with her family. Irena was an avid sportswoman.

She enjoyed fishing, playing tennis and skiing.

Over the course of her life, Irena was an active Polish scout, leading many youth excursions and volunteering her time to the Polish church and community. Irena was a devout Roman Catholic.

Religion was at the centre of her life, and she shared her religious knowledge and passion enthusiastically with those around her. Irena was predeceased by her husband, Franciszek Dabrowski; and by her two brothers, Tadeusz Sokolowski and Wladyslaw Sokolowski.

She is survived by her nephew, Paul Sokolowski; her niece, Grazyna Szczyglowska; and children within the family, who loved her like their own grandmother.

Friends may call at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W., at Windermere, on Sunday, December 18, 2022, from 3-5 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Casimir's Catholic Church, 156 Roncesvalles Ave., on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at 1 p.m. Interment to follow.

For those who wish, donations may be made to the Polish Scouting Association of Canada or Copernicus Lodge.
