LEONARD, Ross Hampton   -  It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ross Hampton Leonard.

With family by his side, he lost his short, but valiant battle with cancer on Monday, December 19, 2022, at the age of 74.

He is survived by his loving partner, Basia (Barbara) Lipinska; her daughter, Magda; and granddaughter, Julia.

He also leaves behind his "baby brother," Lloyd; his sister-in-law, Cyndie; and their daughters, Laura and Christina – his "favourite nieces."

Ross was born in Kapuskasing on September 8, 1948. He was predeceased by his parents, William Albert Leonard and Margaret (nee Hampton) Leonard.

After attending George Brown College, he found a career as an inside salesperson in the machine tool industry. Those who knew him will remember a kind storyteller, who found as much comfort in the great outdoors as in the moments shared with friends at a euchre table.

He loved camping in his younger years, reading suspense novels and watching spaghetti westerns.

Fishing trips with Richard, family game nights with Laura, Christina and Julia, and concerts with Basia were other ways he enjoyed spending his time.

Ross was an active supporter of the Innisfil Historical Society and a proud Kapster.

He had a way of growing the simplest of encounters into lifelong friendships by his thoughtfulness, humor, and gentle nature. For that he will be missed.

At Ross' request, cremation will be followed by a private burial.

A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held at a future date so that we can all share one more story, shed a tear, and raise a glass in Ross' memory.
