King NinaKING, Nina Lorraine (nee OHSIS)   -   November 18, 1943 - December 15, 2022

We are sad to announce the passing of Nina King. She passed away peacefully at Michael Garron Hospital, on December 15, 2022, after a brief illness with complications.

Born in Sarnia, Ontario, on November 18, 1943, she never forgot her French Canadian and working class roots, even as she formed easy and close friendships with people from all walks of life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Juliette Ohsis; her brother, Roger Ohsis; brother-in-law, Donald "Buddy" Boone; and sister-in-law, Laura "Lala" Hanson King.

She is survived by her adoring husband of 49 years, William King; devoted children, Julie (Jeff), Ruby (Alec) and Martin; beloved grandchildren, Fiona, Sylvie and Rowan; and dear siblings-in-law, Nancy King Boone and Harvey King. Nina hated to be bored and loved to share.

She was generous with her energy, time and opinions. She had an eye for detail and nurtured craftsmanship in all its forms.

In retirement, she made many new friends through her volunteer activities and book club.

Nina loved and cherished both her lifelong and newer friends as extended family, and her family deeply appreciates the love they also showed her. Nina's family would like to thank the staff at Michael Garron Hospital for their compassionate care in her last days.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Variety Village, where Nina spent many hours as both a volunteer and participant.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Spring 2023.
