GAIBISELS, Linda  -   March 21, 1925 - December 30, 2022

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Linda Gaibisels (nee Kikkas), in her 97th year.

She was surrounded by loved ones.

Linda was born in Valga, Estonia, and at the age of 19, had to flee from her homeland during WWII. She married Anthony Gaibisels in Leicester, England.

Together, they ventured across the Atlantic to Toronto to make a new life. They created Elm Cove Cottages, where many families have created happy memories.

Linda was a valued employee at Birks for many years. She was also honoured by Women's College Hospital for her 40 years of service as an active volunteer (donations for WCH appreciated).

Linda's three children, Peter, Christine (Tom) and Tina (Vytas); and grandchildren, Caitlin, Jessica (Ted) and Katrina, will miss her very much. All who knew her remember her laughter, her playful nature and the way she brought people together.

Linda was in palliative care for one week at Toronto Grace Hospital, where she received compassionate and loving care. She was blessed to have had wonderful care at home and we are grateful for the PSWs, home nurses, doctors and many people who helped and cared for her.

Visitation and Service: January 14, 2023, 2-3 and 3-4 p.m. at Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W.; with Reception following at home.
