WHITAKER, Art    -  We are sad to announce the passing of Art Whitaker, at age 64, on January 3, 2023, after a year-long battle with cancer.

He was predeceased by his parents, Julius and Myra (nee Roshier); and his step-mother, May. He is survived by his loving wife, TR Lee; his brother, Dave; his aunt, Brenda Dunsdon; his uncle, Jim Dunsdon (Dee Williams).

Son-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. Lee. Beloved brother-in-law of Bill, Dave, Julia, Betty (Steve); uncle of Jennifer (Rece), Justin, Christopher, and Erin (Logan). Great-uncle of Neon Olive.

Art will also be deeply missed by many friends. Art was a lifelong public servant at multiple ministries, agencies, and institutions within the Government of Ontario.

He had recently retired from OLGC, as their director of finance. Art held multiple degrees, including a BA, an MBA, and was a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CMA). He enjoyed jazz, opera, country music and the theatre.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring. Art and his family would like to thank the many health care staff at St. Michael's Hospital, who provided Art with such excellent care.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Art's honour may be made to the George Brown College Foundation's "TR Lee & Art Whitaker Endowment".
