CUTLER, Rita Maude Halifax - Age 98, passed away peacefully January 31, 2023.
Born in Ramea, Newfoundland.
She was daughter of the late Henry and Mary (Baggs) Cutler.
Predeceased by husband and love of her life, Victor, after 46 years of marriage; brothers - George and Leo and sister - Anne.
Survived by children Ron (Marianne) of Sackville and JoAnne (David Pezzack) of Toronto, grandchildren: Victoria, Stephen, Ben and Hannah. To quote her former clergy "she was a firecracker".
The focus of her life was her family; her children and grandchildren. She was always deeply involved in her church wherever she lived, which gave her a rich life of friends, faith and service.
Our memories of Mom revolve around cooking and baking, gardening, camping, sewing and crib playing.
Wherever we travelled, she found berries to pick! Her early years were not easy which meant that she developed a determination that carried her through life.
She never met a lobster or scallop which was not enjoyed to the fullest! We give thanks for the staff at St. Vincent's Nursing Home for their care over the past three years.
Memorial service at St. James Anglican Church, Halifax - Saturday, February 4th, 2 p.m. Interment in Ajax, Ontario at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society or the Canadian Cancer Society.
