Goshulak DariaGOSHULAK, Daria   -  Died peacefully at home in her 103rd year, on February 14, 2023.

 

Beloved wife of the late Rt. Rev. Ostap Goshulak, loving mother to Adrienne (Vincent), Katharyne (Orest), Mary (Nykola), Terry, John (Debra).

 

Dearest grandmother, "Baba", to Matthew, Adrianna (Kelly), Stephanie (Robert), Katheryne, Max, Julian, Peter (Stephanie), Emily (Adrian), and Larissa.

 

A wonderful great-grandmother to Eliot, Esme and Calvin.

 

Born September 10, 1920, in Rohatyn, Ukraine, she fled her country in 1944 with her husband and infant child to Germany and from there 4 years later to Tunisia finally arriving in Toronto, Canada with her husband and 2 children in May 1952.

 

Daria was a dedicated and tireless worker for social causes within her Ukrainian community in Toronto and especially in her work with the Ukrainian Catholic Women's League and in her devotion to the parish of St. Josaphat Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral.

 

Her many provincial and municipal awards attest to her years of selfless service especially with the new immigrants from Ukraine in her community.

 

An avid reader, gardener and a lover of her cottage on Lake Simcoe where she would entertain with her amazing culinary skills her extended family and numerous friends.

 

Visitation on February 20th from 3-5 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. with a Panachyda at 7:00 p.m., at Turner and Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor Street West. Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. on February 21st, at St. Josaphat's Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral on 110 Franklin Avenue.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canada-Ukraine Foundation /The Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal will be appreciated.
