Higginson WilliamHIGGINSON, William (Bill) Charles  -  Bill Higginson, age 80, died at the Jewish General Hospital, Montreal, on March 11, 2023.

 

Bill was born in Montreal on May 23, 1942, to Charles Higginson and Kathleen Hillier.

 

He moved to Ontario in 1977 when he was transferred by Dominion Glass. Bill had a passion for the glass business and worked in management for different glass companies in both Canada and the US.

 

He spent many happy times at the family cottage on Green Lake near Arundel, where he was sure he caught the last fish in the lake. He moved back to Montreal in the fall of 2019 after living in Ontario for over 40 years.

Bill was a generous man who regularly donated to many different charities. He will be missed by his family and friends. Bill was predeceased by his wife, Emilie, whom he cared for devotedly.

 

He is survived by his son, Derek (Alexandra); and his stepchildren, Marc (Anna), Michael (Pam), Patricia (Pierre), Sylvia (Dan), and Alison (Isabel); and grandchildren, Jessica, Carly, Robert, Cassandra, Christopher, and Geoffrey.

 

Bill is survived by his brother, Robert (Debbie); and sister, Mardie (Bruce); and was predeceased by his sister, Patty.

 

Bill is also survived by his many great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

 

A celebration of Bill's life will be held at a future date.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Bill's honour to the Charity of Your Choice.
