McEwen JamesMcEWEN, James Richard   -  Beloved Father and Grandfather.  On Wednesday, February 23, 2023, James Richard McEwen, 77, passed away at his home in Edmonton, Alberta.

Richard was born January 7, 1946 to James and Marguerite (Gratton) McEwen in Hornepayne, Ontario, the oldest of five children.

He lived a rich life equally in his work and personal time. He had careers as a Senior Chemist for Denison Mines in Elliot Lake, Ontario, as a Senior Electronics Engineering Technologist for Applied Materials in Santa Clara, California, and as a Transport Driver for H&R Transport out of Lethbridge, Alberta.

Driving allowed him to pursue his enjoyment of seeing the varying landscapes of North America, from the Pacific Ocean on the west coast to the rolling hills of Wyoming to the great plains and city metropolises.

Accompanying him on his travels was his vast catalogue of music. He enjoyed reading and conversing in his pursuit of understanding the meaning of life and faith.

Richard is survived by his son, Aaron, and daughter, Rachel; grandchildren, Astrid, George and Bryan; sister, Carol; brothers, Bob and Mike.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents and younger sister, Kate. No services are planned in respect to his wishes, however a Memorial Supper is being considered by the family for the spring/summer 2023.
