It is with the greatest of sadness that the family of Sophie Vasileff announces her passing, in her 99th year.
Survived by daughters, Frances (Ben Mudry), Dianne Wood, Ellen Graham and Sonya (Richard Aubrey); Baba to Jessica, Christopher (Megan), Micah (Amy), Jeffrey (Karen), Andrew, Erin (Roger), Kevin and Shaun (Julie); great-Baba to Eliot, Julien, Jack, Max, Emma, Alexandra (Alex), Joshua, Owen (Jade), Sophie K, Maddison, Kassidy, Keegan, Sophie M. and Jacob; and great-great-Baba to Maddox, Reyna, Oliver, Joshua and Markus.
Predeceased by husband, Norman; and infant son, Norman. Sophie is also survived by her sister, Olga Tomev.
Visitation will be held at Mount Pleasant Cemetery on Friday, May 12, 2023, from 4 - 8 p.m. As per her wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held.
The family wishes to extend their love and gratitude for the kindness and special care given by Olive, Vergie, Maizie, Jessica and Carolyn.
Sophie will always and forever be remembered for her absolute love of children and family, and for her gift of drawing people to her in friendship. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the Hospital for Sick Children.
