Hewston LindaHEWSTON, Linda Mae (nee McGLONE)   -

August 31, 1942 - May 11, 2023

It is with profound sadness that the family announces the passing of Linda Mae Hewston (McGlone) on May 11, 2023, after a long and courageous battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, in her 81st year.

Loving, beloved wife of Kirk for 61 years; and loving mother to David (Barbara), Michael (Louise), and Karen.

She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren, Matthew (Lesley), Patricia, Justin, Connor, Natalie, Myles, and Bryan; and was great-grandma to Graham, with number two on the way. Linda was born and raised in Port Credit to parents, the late James and Kathleen McGlone. She grew up in the middle of her two brothers, Ron, and the late Bob.

Linda met the love of her life at Port Credit High School, got married, and started her family. She was a very active member in the community, always volunteering with many charities and always offering her hand to anyone that asked.

Linda was also involved with the Church of St. Bride (Anglican) for over 50 years and shared her amazing knowledge and skills with everyone that knew her. We are heartbroken that we must carry on without her, but her spirit will live on through all of us.

The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the caring PSWs, Mary-June, Keshia, and Pauline, that cared for Linda.

Funeral Service will be held at Church of St. Bride Anglican, 1516 Clarkson Rd., on Thursday, May 18, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. with the family receiving visitors 1 hour prior to Service.

As Linda volunteered for the Canadian Cancer Society for over 35 years, in lieu of flowers, donations to this society would be appreciated by the family.
