Maloney RuthMALONEY, Ruth (nee McCULLOUGH)   -  Passed away on June 2, 2023, in her 86th year.

She was born in Toronto to parents, John and Eva McCullough (née Davidson) on July 22, 1937.

Ruth was the loving wife and best friend of husband, Larry. They had five children, David, Lauren (Tina Grant, with Katlyn and Angie), Sandra Maloney-Efford (Wayne, with Sam and Spencer Efford), Bruce (Stephane Ethier) and Sharon McKeigue (Brian, with Matthew (Mary) and Kristen (and soon-to-be spouse, Aidan Comeau).

Ruth fondly recalled that her happiest time was when she was raising her five small children. She leaves behind her sister, Mazie Flaxman (Doc, deceased). Her brother, Bob and his wife, Lorraine, are also deceased.

Ruth was a proud graduate of East York Collegiate and the University of Toronto, where she earned a BA. For almost 30 years, Ruth had lived with Multiple Sclerosis, smiling bravely, even as it progressed to advanced MS that left her bed-ridden for the last few years of her life.

Diagnosed with cancer and other health issues earlier this year, she was hospitalized in Palliative Care at Peterborough's Regional Health Centre these last few months, where she passed away.

The family would like to express our gratitude to all of the hospital staff for the comfort and care they provided Ruth over her last days. This family has lost a truly remarkable wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many.

May she rest in peace.

Donations in memory of Ruth can be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, the Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of your choice.
