PINTO, Queenie -
January 28, 1931 – October 2, 2023
In Loving Memory of Queenie Agnes Pinto It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, sister, grandmother and aunt, Queenie, who departed us on October 2, 2023, at the age of 92.
She had been battling dementia for many years, but her warm and loving spirit remained strong and resilient until the end.
She was predeceased by her husband, Luke.
A loving mother to Mary-Anne (John), Fred (Namerta) and Chris (Danielle); and grandmother to Luke and Reya.
She will also be known as a role model and kind to her siblings, Patrick (deceased), Angela and Jennifer.
Born on January 28, 1931 in Karachi, Pakistan, Queenie was the first child born to Orphino (deceased) and Julia (deceased) Pinto.
She was a teacher at Saint Patrick's School and the Grammar School to many students and it was during that time she met her future husband, Luke.
It was through sheer courage and determination that they immigrated to Canada in the 1970s to provide opportunities and experiences for their children that would not have otherwise occurred.
She raised her three children with determination, grit and selfless love after the sudden passing of Luke.
We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to all those who supported Queenie these past several years, especially Marcie and the dedicated healthcare staff at the Houses of Providence who provided her with compassionate care.
A Visitation and Memorial Service to honour Queenie will be held on Friday, October 6th, at Paul O'Connor Funeral Home. The Visitation will be from 10 to 11:30 a.m., with a Service to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Providence Healthcare (part of St. Michael's Foundation), in Queenie's name.
Rest in eternal peace, dearest Queenie.
You will forever remain in our hearts and prayers and it is now that you will guide and pray for us through the journey of life.
