Domacina DrazenDOMACINA, Drazen Danny Domacina, RN  -  On Monday, October 2, 2023, Danny passed away peacefully, after a hard-fought battle with melanoma.

Mourning his passing are his loyal son, Andrew Domacina (wife, Minette, and son, Roman); his devoted daughter, Suzana Domacina- Zaios (husband, Nick, and daughter, Aryelle); and his circle of extended family and friends.

He is reunited in Heaven with his beloved son, Marin; brother, Zoran; and first wife, Carol (Dragica). Danny was a one of a kind, eccentric intellectual, with a wide range of almost encyclopedic knowledge.

He came to Canada from Croatia with his first wife, daughter and a son on the way in 1969, arriving in Calgary, and eventually settling in Toronto. Although he possessed a law degree from Yugoslavia, he ultimately embraced a career in healthcare, and spent the next 40 years as a registered nurse impacting the lives of patients, their families and colleagues at geriatric facilities all over the City.

His impressive work ethic was matched only by his notorious, charming stubbornness. His second marriage brought the blessings of two more children.

Retiring in 2018, Danny dedicated his remaining years to his passions of mastering the acoustic guitar, oil painting scenes of his long lost Adriatic coast, and religiously maintaining his fitness.

Even at 82, Danny's physique and strength remained the envy at his gym amongst his peers.

He was a beacon of knowledge, and an avid storyteller with a unique sense of humour, that will be dearly missed.

Počivaj u miru dragi Tata. Family and friends will be received for visitation at Heritage Funeral Centre, 50 Overlea Blvd., Toronto, at 12 p.m., on Saturday, October 14, 2023, with the service commencing at 1 p.m.
