CRAWFORD, James W.  - On October 17, 2017, James passed away peacefully at his home in Markham surrounded by his family following a long battle with cancer at the age of 70.

James is survived by his devoted wife Elizabeth, adoring children Michael (Julie), Patricia, Christopher and Lisa.

Cherished Papa to Courtney, Tyler, Brayden, Emily, Cameron, Marcus and great-grandson Nathan. Loving brother to Betty and Brian.

As a longtime local businessman, hockey coach (18 years) and outstanding member of the Markham Union Masonic Lodge 87, he volunteered his time and expertise to his community.

He lived life on his own terms, always adventurous and with a great sense of humour. Our sincere gratitude to the many doctors and nurses from Princess Margaret Hospital and Markham Stouffville Hospital for their endless time, care and patience as he went through treatments.

Visitations will be held on Sunday, October 22nd between 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. at Dixon-Garland Funeral Home located at 166 Main St. N. in Markham.
