SCHULZ, Fred  - June 8, 1929 - October 17, 2017

Despite or perhaps because of an early life marked by war, hunger, displacement and loss.

Fred truly viewed each day as a miracle.

Immigrating to Canada, he was always grateful for the safety and opportunity this great country offered.

Working up from a Window Cleaner and Cook to a fulfilling career as a Teacher, Fred positively influenced the lives of hundreds of young people. A giving and joyful person, Fred's retirement years were enriched by travel with Mary, rewarding volunteer commitments and the company of dogs. 37 years of marriage to Mary, the love of his life and closest confidante, brought the passion, companionship and contentment he so valued.

Grief is the price we pay for love; Fred was loved and treasured beyond measure. Our hearts are full of gratitude for our specialists and of course for Drs. Jacquie and Marty Schwartz.

Friends, former colleagues and students are invited to a celebration of Fred's life on Saturday, October 28th, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Morley Bedford Funeral Home, 159 Eglinton Ave. W. Please bring your personal memories to share at 2 o'clock.

If desired, donations in Fred's memory may be made to "Big on Beagles", a charity for "homeless howlers" at www.bigonbeagles.ca.
