VERNON, John Edward (Ed)  - September 27, 1922 - October 20, 2017

Passed away peacefully at Southlake Regional Health Centre with his family at his side at the age of 95 after a lengthy illness that he fought against with grace and strength.

Beloved husband of the late Doreen (nee Horner).

Cherished father of Gayle Vincent and her husband Doug. Proud Papa of Ryan, Lindsey and Brody Vincent. Also survived by his sister-in-law Katherine (Keith) and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, John and Mildred Vernon, his brothers Randall, Bruce, Leonard and Keith and his sister Ruth Furtney. Ed served in the Royal Canadian Air Force (Bomber Command) during WWII.

Following the war he worked at Imperial Oil until his retirement in 1982. Ed was a compassionate and caring husband, father and grandfather and had such a loving devotion to his family. We are thankful for his long and fulfilling life and we will cherish all the wonderful memories. Many thanks to Dr. Mulhern, Dr. James and the palliative team at Southlake Health Centre.
