O'CONNOR, Louise Matilda (nee GRUNSKY)   - Born August 25, 1935 in Humboldt, Saskatchewan, passed away on November 2, 2017.

Her parents were immigrants who came to Canada from Russia (Michael Grunsky) and England (Anna Louise Hall) who settled on a farm in Humbolt, Saskatchewan.

Wife and partner to Ralph Frances Desales O'Connor of Kirkland Lake, Ontario whom she married in October 1960 in Humbolt.

Ralph passed away in 1998 and has been greatly missed by Louise. Sister to John (deceased), Anne (deceased), Marge, Bob (deceased), Helen (deceased), Edith, Hank, Jim (deceased), Hilda (deceased) and Evy. Mother to Karen and wife Beth, Craig and wife Lil, Kelly and husband David, Chris and wife Sue and favourite daughter Sandra. Grandmother to Adam, Connor, Siobhan and Sydney. They have fond memories as children of playing board games, baking, making Halloween costumes and holding her hand while watching the 401 traffic from the bridge by her house. Louise worked at Cancer Care Ontario for over 20 years.

She was proud of her work there and made good friends she stayed connected to over the years. Her character and temperament were shown when she became ill. She was optimistic, positive, kept her sense of humour and kept her Catholic faith close.

One of her greatest comforts during this time was having her children and grandchildren at her side. Donations can be made, in lieu of flowers, to Louise's favourite charity, Covenant House.

A special thank you to her nurses Cecile and Mary Catherine of Nurse Next Door, who took amazing care of her over the last few months.

Family will receive friends at the Holy Cross Catholic Funeral Home, 211 Langstaff Road E., on Tuesday, November 7th from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Mass will take place within the Chapel, on Wednesday, November 8th at 11:30 a.m.
