FLATLEY, William (Bill) - October 5, 1921 – November 17, 2017
Passed away peacefully on Friday, November 17th at the age of 96. Beloved husband of the late Eileen Flatley. Loving father of Heather (Ed) and Charles (Kim).
Bill will be greatly missed by his four grandchildren, Alanna (Josh), Holly, Bridget and Sarah and all his family. Bill left Scotland in the early 1950s to start a new life in Canada. He was later joined by 3 of his 4 siblings, with Mamie remaining in Glasgow.
Bill enjoyed many happy times in Canada with Margaret, Tom, Jackie and their families. He met his future wife Eileen in Toronto.
They were married in 1957 and shared 58 wonderful years together. Bill was at his happiest surrounded by his family and hearing the latest news of their lives. His good humour and gentle laughter will be missed but not forgotten by all who knew him. Special thanks to the caring staff at Orchard Villa Long Term Care in Pickering, Ontario, especially to those in the Birch and Maple wings.
Visitation followed by a memorial service will take place at Paul O'Connor Funeral Home, 1939 Lawrence Ave. E., on Thursday, November 23rd at 10:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Bill's name to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
