Biernacki WaldemarBIERNACKI, Waldemar (Walter)  - Uradzone May 8, 1925 Isabelline, Polish Kresy Son of Wladyslaw and Waclawa, Waldemar fought in WWII for allied forces, only to end up fleeing communist Poland after the war by swimming across the Oder River to freedom in Germany.

Waldemar died on November 21, 2017 under the kind, considerate care of the Palliative wing of the Michael Garron Hospital in Toronto.

Once he reached Canada, he worked in several cities across the country, including Moose Jaw, Winnipeg and Edmonton, before settling in Toronto in 1956.

An avid bridge player and hockey fan, he leaves his loving wife of 49 years, Shiela, his son, Mark, his daughter-in-law Emma and granddaughters Lola and Piper who were his "stars".

After a long life of 92 years, he bids 'adieu' to family, friends, former colleagues from Kilborn Engineering and Gore & Storrie, as well as to those in the Polish community in Toronto.

In his own words, "Take it easy, but take it."  Cremation took place as per his wishes. He will be greatly missed and always remembered.
