Bristow GeorgeBRISTOW, George Carl JR.  - 1932 - 2017  Carl "Bud" Bristow died peacefully on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 in his 86th year.

He was born on May 22, 1932 to the late G. Carl Sr. and the late Mary Elizabeth Bristow (nee Carlisle).

He was married to Nancy (nee Quinn) from 2003, until her death in 2016.

Their love story of reconnecting after 50 years apart and having such joy together in their later years, is one for the history books!

Bud married his first wife Carol (nee Fries) in 1954 after graduating from Bowling Green State University in Ohio.

He is survived by two daughters from that marriage: Mary of Uxbridge, ON and Anne (Paul Fitzhenry) of Westfield, NJ; grandchildren Megan (Bob), David (Julia), Melissa, Amanda, Colin and Michael and five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his second wife Shirley MacDonald.

He was a loving step-father to Shirley's children. He was also predeceased by his sister Marcia Platford. When Bud married Nancy, he inherited a whole new set of adult step- children and grandchildren.

He was welcomed into Nancy's family with open arms and was much loved and respected by all.

Bud was raised in Toronto, attended Forest Hill church, and graduated from Ridley College.

Before Bowling Green State, he attended the University of Michigan where he was a sprinter on the track team. Bud loved jazz, fine wine and fast cars. He regularly attended NASCAR races and realized a lifelong dream when he built and operated The Golden Horseshoe Dragway in 1970 outside Georgetown, Ontario.

He was an active University of Michigan alumnus and travelled the US watching the men's basketball and football teams, including the basketball team during its runs to the 1992 and 1993 NCAA national championship games. This man lived a full and interesting life. He was very loved and will be missed by so many.

Watch over us, and Rest In Peace, Bud.
