DeCoste LindaDeCOSTE, Linda Carmel  - Of Beauchalet on Chandos Lake in Ontario, passed away peacefully in her home with the Morley family on December 8, 2017 at the age of 67.

She benefitted from the loving and attentive care of her sisters Judi and Shirley and niece Margaret after the discovery of an unexpected and aggressive cancer. In addition to Shirley, Margaret and the Morley family, Linda also leaves behind her brothers Hughie and Tony, nieces Kirsten, Keri, April and Krista, nephews Francis, Jimmy, Bryan, Shane, Scott and Ben and all their children and spouses.

They are all richer from having known Linda in their lives.

Linda was predeceased by her parents Dennis and Ella and her brother Raymond, all from Mattie Settlement, near Antigonish in Nova Scotia. Linda worked for many years at St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto where she made lifelong friends, before departing to take on a family role in Thornhill. A few years ago she found her special place in Beauchalet and when the lake captivated her soul she made the move from Thornhill permanent.

Linda contracted polio as a child, yet overcame the resultant handicaps and the frequent pain with fortitude, dignity and positivity. To all who knew her, Linda was a special person who would bring sunshine and love into their lives.

Linda became the heart and soul of the DeCoste clan, the glue that helps keep an extended family close together. Linda was an integral part of the Morley household for nearly 30 years, living with her sister Judi and Judi's husband David, first in Thornhill then at Beauchalet.

Linda took on a major role in raising their sons Colin, Ross and Kevin, and provided unmatched care to Judi through her long periods of illness. Never married, the boys became her own and her profound influence on their lives and values will continue to live on through them.

Family meant everything to Linda and visits and calls from many family members and friends over the last few weeks brought a selfless person the pleasure of attending her own celebration of life.

Cremation has taken place and a continuation of the celebration of Linda's life will be held at a later date.

Donations in Linda's memory can be made to Thornhill United Church, Thornhill, Ontario or the Church of St. Peter, Tracadie, Nova Scotia.
