Scarff RitaSCARFF, Rita   - 1942 - 2017  Rita Catherine Scarff (nee Kearney), age 75, died peacefully at Brampton Civic Hospital on December 18, 2017 surrounded by her loving family.

We Will Take Comfort Forever In The Light of Your "Afterglow"

"I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one. I'd like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done. I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways, of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days. I'd like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun of happy memories that I leave when life is done."

She has been reunited with the love of her life, Patrick Scarff (April 15, 2014), husband and friend of 48 years.

Born in County Cork, Ireland, on May 27, 1942, cherished daughter of Patrick Kearney and Margaret O'Callaghan.

Rita will be especially remembered for her generosity, humour and devotion to her Catholic faith, which she leaves as a legacy through her children and grandchildren. Rita is survived by her beloved children Paula (Carl), Marie (Drew), Celine (Scott) and Patricia (David) and is the cherished Nanny of Keira, Shaun, Carleen, Samantha, Matthew, Emilie, Sarah and Lily.

Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home "Brampton Chapel", 52 Main St. S., on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anne's Catholic Church, 115 Vodden St., Brampton, on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation will be graciously accepted.
