STOECKEL, Elizabeth  - Elizabeth Stoeckel passed away peacefully after a serious fall on December 17th.

Elizabeth was in her 97th year, fiercely independent and still living in her own apartment in Scarborough.

Fondly known as Oma S, Elizabeth was born on October 8, 1920 in Banat-Brestowatz, Yugoslavia, and immigrated to Canada after the War.She was predeceased by her first husband Michael Gardisch (1961) and son Josef (2015).

Elizabeth was remarried in 1972 to Paul Stoeckel and spent many happy winters with friends and family in Caribbean Park, Naples, Florida prior to Paul's passing. Mother-in-law to Lydia Gardisch (nee Bende).

Loving Oma to Michele (nee Gardisch) and Kevin Tower, Walt and Diane (nee Hepburn) Gardisch. Elizabeth is also fondly remembered by Paul Stoeckel's children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation at Paul O'Connor Funeral Home, 1939 Lawrence Ave. E., on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 from 9 a.m. until the time of the service in our chapel at 11 a.m.
