CÁCERES, Mario René - February 19, 1936 – December 30, 2017
Mario passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 30, 2017 surrounded by his family, at Credit Valley Hospital, after a brief battle with brain cancer.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Catherine (nee Passaretti).
Loving father to Cynthia and her husband Mike, Richard and his wife Helen and Christina and her husband Mitch.
Cherished Papa to Michael, Stephanie, Jessica, Adam, Sydney, Will and Great-Papa to Lincoln, Lily and Kennedy. Mario was born in Montreal, Quebec the only child of Jose and Cecile Caceres (nee Dame). He grew up surrounded by many cousins from the Dame and Forest families.
Mario and Catherine were married in Montreal, Quebec in 1959 and in 1968 relocated their growing family to Mississauga, Ontario. They spent many wonderful years raising their children in the family-friendly neighborhood of the "Homelands".
Family and friends will be received at the Glen Oaks Funeral Home, Oakville, ON, on Saturday, January 6, 2018 from 2-6 p.m. The funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Sunday, January 7th at 3 p.m. A reception will be held following the Service.
