HANDA, Saran Kumari (nee KOHLY) - Passed away peacefully at home on January 5, 2018 in her 89th year.
Survived by her 2 loving daughters, Amita and Manavi Handa, son-in-law Richard Rollocks, three younger siblings and many nieces, nephews and their children.
Predeceased by her beloved son Arvind Handa (1955-1978) and husband Madan Lal Handa (1930-1990).
She had a full, long life, experienced heartbreaking tragedy and yet remained full of life, inspiring others around her. She loved to travel and was a world citizen with children born on 3 continents.
Proudly wearing a traditional Indian Sari as a teacher in Toronto in an era where many immigrants tried to blend in.
A South Asian icon, respected by her friends, family and community. She will be celebrated and missed.

Visitation will be at York Cemetery and Funeral Centre, North York, on Tuesday, January 9th from 6:00-9:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, January 10th at 1:30 p.m. Reception to follow at the Handa Residence.
