GRIECO, Rose (nee VERTOLLI) - 1928-2018 Passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on January 5th.
Predeceased by her adoring husband Victor and daughter Marianne.
She is survived by her daughters Patricia and Victoria (Chris) and grandchildren Christina (Joey), Aris, Taima, Jordan, Marek and Carmen. Author and Restaurateur, "Mama Rosa" was best known for her kindness and compassion.
Her sunny personality and sense of humour had a positive impact on everyone she met.
A rich history of growing up during tough times in Toronto was beautifully captured in her autobiographical book, "The District: Growing Up in Little Italy." She has touched many lives and is dearly missed by all. Forever loved.
Visitations will be held at Jerrett Funeral Home, 1141 St. Clair Ave. W., on Thursday, January 10th and Friday, January 11th from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at ST. CLARE'S ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1118 St. Clair Ave. W. on Saturday, January 13th at 10 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Fresh Air Fund may be made.
