MERAS, Arpi Azniv (nee Shamlian) - June 5, 1936 - January 12, 2018
Arpi was the person we all wanted to be when we grew up.
She was resilient, generous, classy, fierce, and accomplished in her many roles as a family member, friend, excellent dinner host, pianist, mentor, and as the rock of the Arpi Nursery School community for nearly 44 years.
She touched the lives of countless people.
Arpi's vision was to create the most unique learning environment where every child is genuinely treated as an individual. She leaves behind a school that only she could have built, and her spirit will forever be the foundation of Arpi Nursery School. Arpi passed away on the evening of January 12th.
She is survived by her two sons, Suren and Saro Meras, and her five grandchildren: Armen, Aida, Lena, Kendra, and Alex. Arpi also leaves behind her niece, Hasmig Possian, and her grand-niece Amara Possian, daughter and granddaughter of Arpi's late sister and brother-in-law, Seta and Bedros Zobyan.
A service will be held in HOLY TRINITY ARMENIAN CHURCH, 920 Progress Avenue, on Saturday, January 20th, at 4:00 p.m., followed by a memorial reception. Condolences, photographs and memories may be forwarded to
