Hanna JeanHANNA, Jean Lorraine Bennett  - October 16, 1932 - February 17, 2018

Jean passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home, on February 17th, in her 86th year, after a brief illness.

Jean is the beloved mom of Julie and her husband Phil Roberts, and John and his wife Jane Jones.

She is the adored Gramma of Daniel, Timothy and Samuel (Yu) Roberts, Sarah (Shawn) Whyte, and Stephen (Mary) Hanna.

She treasured her great-grandchildren: Ashlea, Ryan, Emma and soon to be born, Bennett.

Jean will be missed by her sister, Shirley (Bruce) Edwards, and her many cherished nieces and nephews across the country. She was predeceased by Donald, her husband of fifty years, her sisters, Gwyneth Dow and Beverley Cooper and her brothers, Douglas, Richard and Philip Bennett.

Jean enjoyed the close friendships she made while working in the Business Office of the Oshawa Clinic, and as receptionist at General Motors Parts and Service Department, and her family thanks those dear friends for their years of love and support.

Known as “Sweet Jean” by her siblings, she always looked for the best in everyone and had a kind word for all.

Visitation will be held at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Friday, March 2nd from 2 – 4 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m.

A Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel on Saturday, March 3rd at 11:00 a.m.

Donations in memory of Jean may be made to SickKids Hospital or to the charity of your choice.

Online condolences would be appreciated at oshawafuneralhome.com.
