BOYD, Joseph Francis - On March 19, 2018 Joe was called back to heaven to be reunited with his mother, Nell, who passed away in 1937.
He passed away peacefully surrounded by family, one day shy of his 91st birthday at the Streetsville Care Community Home.
Joe is survived by his beloved wife Helen (nee Jay) of over 60 years, children Cathy (Morgan) Grant, David (Kim), Gerard (Sandy), Michael (Dareline), and Paul Boyd. Grandchildren Brittany (Scott) Clark, John Morgan (Gillian) Grant, Jennifer Boyd (Garrett), Nikki Boyd, Justin Boyd and great-grandaughter Alice Catherine Clark.
Like blood-brothers, Monte (Anne) Schooley, the late Meryl (Dorothy) Schooley and the late Clen (late Margaret) Schooley. Joe's career spanned 40 years as a banker in the International Division with the TD Bank.
He carried his business acumen into his passion for philanthropy, giving generously of his time and energy to his parish of St. Martin of Tours and the community. Joe devoted 25 years to Spiritual Care at the Credit Valley Hospital, was the District Deputy and Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus and volunteered in many other charitable organizations.
Visitation will be held at the Turner & Porter "Neweduk-Erin Mills" Chapel, 1981 Dundas St. West, Mississauga (just east of Erin Mills Parkway) on Wednesday from 6-9 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Martin of Tours Church, 1290 McBride Ave. on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery. Reception to follow at St. Martin of Tours Church Hall.
