Merilees PhilipMERILEES, Philip Errol, PhD,   - 1940-2018  It is with profound sadness that the family of Philip Merilees announce his passing into the hands of Our Lord on March 7, 2018 in Bonita Springs, Florida.

Grieving his loss are his beloved wife, Micheline, his sons Derek (Karen), Scott (Mikhaila), his daughter Michelle and his grandchildren Danielle, Thomas and Erika.

Sadly missed by his siblings Kathy (Claude), Jay (Teresa), Marcia (Rick), Chuck (Bev) and his many nieces and nephews. In addition to being a wonderful family man, Phil was an internationally renowned research scientist at McGill University in Montreal, the Meteorological Service of Canada in Toronto, the National Center for Atmospheric Research in Boulder, Colorado and the Naval Research Laboratory in Monterey, California.

In his retirement years, Phil delighted in spending time on the golf course with his friends, sons and grandson.

A visitation will be held June 14th from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Taylor Funeral Home, 524 Davis Drive, Newmarket, Ontario. The Funeral Mass will be held on June 15th at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Chrysostom Church, 432 Ontario Street, Newmarket.
